Crit session , peers and personal feedback

We have a silent crit today and the opportunity to show the work we have so far to the rest of the class and receive/give feedback

I was a little bit scared at first because I havent finish my essay yet which I cannot focus entirely  to my sketchbook and artwork but after reading some of the feedback i felt bit better.

Thanks to my colleagues's feedback i feel like i'm  on the right track .Still some things to work on but at least there were just negative feedbacks after all.

Pawel Kuczynski

I did some last minute changes. I change the illustrator that i'm going to analyse in my essay because after having wrote the satire theory and the techniques Im going to examine, i notice that John Holcroft doesn't really fit with them and it wil be difficult to apply them on my analysis.
On the other hand, I'm happy that i realised this, because my new illustrator (Pawel Kuczynski) is the best example to apply the satirical theory on his artwork.
These are some of the possible images that I will write about in my essay.

Need to decide quickly ! im started to get stress because I' haven't finish the final essay yet, and time is gold right now. My time management for this module wasn't as good as I expected from the beginning to the end, but hopefully I will manage to do everything on time (finger crossing)

Last notes and guide for final Essay

Introduction: questions that youre going to explore, main focus

Theory of Satire: Definition of satire and purpose

Mentioned the 3 perspective but dont explained it all, focus on Horatian term
Described the Horatian term one by one & techniques (maybe do it in separate paragraphs so its not confusing)

Examples of satire in cartoons: Southpark, describe the scenes

-described the scene of southpark
  • relate it to the tecnhiques with your own opinion, why is it a satire (religion satire?)
- described their aims why they made the episode, idea behind it (from the creator point of view)

-described John Holcroft illustrations
-relate it to the tecnhiques with own opinion, why is satire (political, the use of politican faces or anything)
-describe what idea behind the picture about (from the illustrator point of view)

Application:

comparing, why is it different with each other? Or did they share something in common?? Analyze
so is it effective? Find a way to measure effectiveness, (public opinions, reactions from the viewers) maybe find some articles that gives positive and negative feedback from both of the examples, research.
Analyse this reactions relate it with the original intention of the creators/illustrator. Does it meet their principles? Is it the kind of reaction that they expect?

Conclusion: repeat the keypoints that u already had from each subjects. State ur opinion and answer the main question by explaining it.

Main question: Why satire is the most effective way of persuading people to realize social issues?
