Finished Visual Journal
VISUAL JOURNAL
I divided my visual Journal into 2 parts , each part represented on each side of the Journal. Although both sides share the same theme (Social/Technology) , I decided to deal different topic on each side.
In the first part, I explored the same topic that I talk about in my essay . A critique on social media and how had impact into modern society . I considered that doing a panoramic image through one of the whole sided will cause more impact to viewers ,not just for the aeshtetic, but for the narrative I used to bring a serious issue thought satire and cartoons. The idea is very simple but effective . The image shows a modern society on daily basis and in different ares ( city, countyside, etc). Every citizens regardless the activities they are doing, are looking at their smartphones. I invite all the viewers to have a 360 look around you, to realise that this exaggeration is not joke, but the modern reality .

In the second part of my visual Journal, I decided to change the topic, although still the same theme . On this side of the book, I critique once more society, but this time, looking into our past, present and future. During my research , professor Turkle also mentioned the term “ A Technological Singularity” ( A hypothesis whereas artificial intelligence will take over on Earth )
I started producing a series of character that contribute to human history. Sadly, the only event that modern society will achieve is the extinction of humanity. I considered that a sequential narrative will communicate a better concept. However, I did used once more satire and cartoons to represent my ideas as they have become my most powerful weapons on Context of Practice modules.

Mega Crit
Comment on the relationship between the content and practical responses so far
- the way your drawings work across the book and develop in a chronological order is interesting, relevant and fun to read thogu! almost a narrative, directly informed by theory research.
- you are really utilising the spce of the journal well, your character design are great + feel well informed by information.
- Maybe add quotes?
- the journal together works really well, managing use of the space
- great concept, excited to see how it develops
Comment on the visual quality of the practical responses
- Bring in some other media
- The quality of your drawings is great . Could maybe look at adding colours or using different material ?
- I like the continuous image through ,definitely keep it up. Make sure you write about the practical in the essay.
- Really enjoy the timeline, evolution from monkey to robotdeath.
What issues need to be addressed ahead of the submission deadline?
- Finish your journal !
